LIBYAN CIVIL WAR

In June 2019 Tripoli was a city besieged by war. Marshal Haftar's troops were fighting against militias loyal to the UN-recognized unity government barely 10 kms from the capital. In addition to the war, there were other very difficult realities in Libya, such as the refugees from other African countries who were trying to reach Europe by crossing the Mediterranean. During the production of this report, we visited the immigration detention center of Tayura. They were given one bottle of water a week and one meal a day, and were locked up in prisons. The same center we visited was bombed ten days after our visit, killing more than 50 migrants.
